Do not use lotion or deodorant the day of your session, if you must use a light moisturizer only use it on areas that tend to be very dry. Deodorant can react to the DHA in the tanning solution and turn your arm pits green! Baby powder could be a alternative.
Using a loofa and shower gel only remove your dead skin. Pay attention to areas with thick skin such as elbows, knees and heels. You do not need to use speciality scrubs, they can actually slow the tanning process if it leaves a film on your skin.
At least 8 hours after your session you may rinse off your tan. You will see cosmetic bronzers rinsing away...don't worry you are not losing your tan in fact it is still not done building yet. You're tan will continue to build for 18-24 hours post session. You may use soap on you're "hot spots". Wait 24 hours to shower as normal. Remember exfoliating is going to fade you're tan so for the next week be gentle with you're skin in the shower and you tan will last the desired 7-10 days.
Shaving is a form of exfoliating. If you must shave be gentle, be careful not to remove your tan. I recommend you use hair conditioner on your legs as a shaving cream alternative as it doesnt contain harsh alcohol which can dry and fade.
